MYTH 1:”PREGNANT WOMEN MUST EAT FOR TWO PERSON”

There is a famous saying is that you should “eat for two” when you’re pregnant, but now we know that it’s dangerous to eat twice your usual amount of food during pregnancy. Instead of “eating for two,” think of it as eating twice as healthy.

If you are pregnant with one foetus, you need an extra 340 calories per day starting in the second trimester (and a bit more in the third trimester).

If you are carrying twins, you should get about 600 extra calories a day. If you are carrying triplets, you should take in 900 extra calories a day

MYTH 2: “EATING PAPAYA WILL LEAD TO ABORTION “

Ripe papayas are a good source of vitamin C, which is an important nutrient during pregnancy.A small papaya can provide about 95 milligram of vitamin C on average, which is more than the daily recommended value of 85 mg for pregnant people.

However, an unripe or semi-ripe papaya isn’t safe for pregnant women. Unripe papaya is rich in a substance called latex. Studies show that this concentrated form of latex may trigger uterine contractions.But till now there is no evidence that unripe papaya cause abortion.You can eat ripe papaya safely.

MYTH 3: “DRINK SAFFRON MILK TO IMPROVE COMPLEXION OF BABY”

Many women believe that they must consume saffron during pregnancy for a fair baby. However, it must be noted that the skin colour of a child is genetically determined, and it hasn’t been scientifically proven whether saffron can impact the complexion of a newborn baby or not.

MYTH 4: “EXERCISE IS BAD IN PREGNANCY”

If you are healthy and your pregnancy is normal, it is safe to continue or start regular physical activity. Physical activity does not increase your risk of miscarriage, low birth weight, or early delivery.

It’s still important to discuss exercise with your obstetrician during your early prenatal visits. If your doctor gives you the OK to exercise, you can discuss what activities you can do safely.

MYTH 5: “NO SEX IN PREGNANCY”

It’s perfectly safe to have sex during pregnancy unless your doctor or midwife has told you not to.Having sex will not hurt your baby.

However, it’s normal for your sex drive to change during pregnancy. This isn’t something to worry about, but it’s helpful to talk about it with your sexual partner.

You may find having sex very enjoyable during pregnancy, or simply feel you don’t want to. You can find other ways of being loving or making love. The most important thing is to talk about your feelings with your partner.

If your pregnancy is normal and you have no complications, having sex and orgasms won’t increase your risk of going into labour early or cause a miscarriage.

MYTH 6: “MORNING SICKNESS FELT ONLY IN MORNING”

Morning sickness can occur at any time of the day or night, and it affects many pregnant women. It is caused by hormonal changes in the body and can be managed with dietary changes, rest, and sometimes medication.

MYTH 7: TRAVEL IS UNSAFE DURING PREGNANCY

Travel is generally safe during pregnancy.The pregnant women should take precautions such as wearing seat belts, staying hydrated, and taking breaks to move around. Pregnant women should also check with their healthcare provider before traveling, especially if they have any underlying medical conditions.
